Okay not only is this not native, it's not even through Wine-- it requires codeweavers |
Did anyone get this to run on Linux or Mac? Does it work well? |
Philipp I just installed it on Linux (Ubuntu 8.04) and it doesn't work well. It takes long time to run and it's very sluggish. |
Just installed it on Ubuntu 8.04
* It's a bit slow changing tabs, * Scrolling is juddery * I'm having problems loading Gmail * Fonts render strangely * The status bar at the bottom dosn't go away (even if you go to another program!) * (Google) Gears dosn't work * You can't make application short cuts * It asks where to save each downloaded file *Slow in general |
I was so tempted to try this approach out yesterday when I saw it on Slashdot. But I will wait till its native for the Mac before I install and test Chrome. |
Direct download link is the following: http://www.codeweavers.com/services/ports/chromium/
There is no support for PowerPC Macs, therefore I have no change to test with this machine:-(
Thanks for fixing the source URL, Philipp, my Opera browser on Nokia Communicator doesn't handle slashes very well.. :( |
I tried it on Mac and it's not really the same experience as in Windows. is slower and more bulky.
We'll have to wait for the official releases :/ |
Thank you Mrrix32, I was about to download it. But I guess I'd better wait for the official release. Hope it will don't take too long. |
