I really seem to miss the point of this post... I assume I am missing something really obvious... |
How long it did to make that post and those links.. Huh! |
David, I figured this compilation might be of interest if you want to watch some noteworthy videos. Currently I'm working on some project where we need a lot of fun videos, so this link compilation is one of the side-effects of that project, and I'd figured maybe others could enjoy this too.
Juha-Matti, I wrote a small script to pull these, so it was all automated. Right now though I'm going through every video manually to check which have been removed by now... I'm marking those with a strike-through in the post. (That part could be automated as well but I need to watch each video once anyway.) |
TL;DR
But seriously, I'm curious about "some project where we need a lot of fun videos". Many of your little projects are a source of fun or niche utility, so I wonder when and what you can say about your newest one? |
Nice that it can be automated (even getting the title fields from videos?) |
Yes, that's right. Here's the PHP5 routine I used, which uses XPath: http://blogoscoped.com/files/grab-waxy.txt |
Thnks for the link to the routine! |

Oh, and to answer that question: the videos are for the interstitials for the waiting times at http://captionx.com . My friend also spun off a separate site where they're hosted: http://funny15.com ... with all videos being 15 seconds long. |
