I've always been dreaming of HTML5 Youtube since Webkit implemented it a while back...
Will the new youtube therefore work on iPhone? |
HTML 5 demoed at I/O http://htmlfive.appspot.com/ |
Also geo-location in Maps |
Free HTC Magic for all attendees...
|
HTC Magic? Techcrunch is reporting G1s. Confirmation of HTC Magic or T-Mobile G1 anyone? |
Web Elements are disgustingly inconsistent. The "Ads by Google" thing works well on Adwords/Adsense, they need a similar "Google Web Elements" branding on the bottom right/left that is consistent, not like what they have now. |
[Updated the post with more of Brian's pics of the phone.] |
From the pic, it DOES NOT look like the T-Mobile G1. |
Here's a link printed in the brochure: http://googleio.appspot.com/qr/
"Scattered around Google I/O, you'll find QR codes – two-dimensional barcodes designed to be read by the camera on many mobile devices (with the right software installed)."

Official Name: Google Ion; It's a HTC Magic branded differently. |
Looks like there's some social features coming to Maps. Look at the left side panel on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTqArX10ZCY#t=6m40s. There's a "recent friends activity". "See your Google Talk contacts' maps review (and, soon, My Maps) and allow them to see yours".
My first thoughts when reading "recent friends activity" were that Latitude would soon be fully integrated within Google Maps, and that activity would be more than current position, and include friends' path tracking history, last visited stores, common friends meeting, speed of move, etc. But it was a little too "wow" :) |
"Google I/O device", I believe is the proper name.... |
Android 2.0 "Donut" features demoed at Google I/O too:

I hope Google Squared will be finally launched. |
Google Wave is the new personal collaboration product, developed by the Maps team. Open sourced. Dev. accounts for I/O attendees only. |
Google loves ".org" domains when they want their project sounds serious. |

Sure, just pointing out what the included instruction book calls the device. |
TOMHTML Hahaha that's so true and it made me laugh!
beussery Ah I see, sorry. I wonder why there is such a discrepancy? Last minute change? Poor communication between departments? |
