Just wanted to note this isn't new, have been using tineye quite actively and saw this tool before, wasn't it more a preview of how the commericial api can be used?

Yeah, but other tools have been doing this for over a decade now. Here's something from 1998:

Hey mate... if you want to find images by sketch check out this experiment from 2006. I dont know what they are doing with it or if it has any legs but its pretty cool for an experiment:

I'd love to see something like Retrievr be applied to an even bigger set of images, and letting you sketch a shape without being required to define colors (right now when you sketch a black line you will get black and white images).
