<<My Buzz friend @Joe Lancaster noticed a new link in the top-left corner of Gmail. The URL is http://partnerpage.google.com/?tab=mS but we are redirected to iGoogle (www.google.com/ig). Where we get "contact suggestions" (http://www.google.com/support/chat/bin/answer.py?answer=173651) and two "new" (for me) tabs: "Updates" & "Friends" (http://www.google.com/support/websearch/bin/answer.py?answer=151672).>> http://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_UkDtRhs5P7g/TErY3GEhk8I/AAAAAAAAAcU/Bp9yWIMgRGA/Start-Page.jpg

The Start Page link i'm not seeing in Gmail.

Apparently, that's the only recent change (Friends, Updates, Contact Suggestions were already there).

The Start Page seems to be the new name for iGoogle from Gmail (it would bring some consistency between Google Apps and classic Google accounts). Some Buzzers seem to think iGoogle could host the expected 'Google Me' service.

Start Page is for Google Apps:

But in non-Google Apps accounts too, now. That's why I posted this here.

Official blog post...

iGoogle now replacing the Start Page:

<< The Start Page is being automatically be converted to iGoogle. The Start Page gadgets your users have configured will be migrated to iGoogle pages, after which users can modify their iGoogle gadgets, tabs and themes. Your Start Page web address will automatically redirect your users to iGoogle. >>

In Google Docs (for a regular Gmail account, in document listing, not edit mode) I'm seeing:

Start Page, Gmail, Calendar Documents Web more ▼

In edit mode, Gmail, Calendar, Reader, I'm seeing the links I normally do.

Wait.. looks like Google Docs has set those non Google Apps account to Google Apps.
In my regular Gmail account in Google Docs, I saw Start Page as well.
But in the drop down there is this 'Find More Services' that links to Google Apps Marketplace.

[put at-character here]JEShack: this bug seems to be related to the transition of Google Apps accounts into the Google Account infrastructure (see http://smarterware.org/6394/google-apps-vs-google-accounts-resolution-coming). Gmail may now be ready to host Google Apps accounts as the 'Start Page' link has been replaced by 'iGoogle'; Docs could get the same treatment right now, which would explain the 'Start Page' link in the top-bar. These are my best guess for those artifacts.
