I'm really surprised Google made such a dumb mistake. Do you really think someone from Google erased the blog by accident??? Seems a little dubious to me. This was seriously risky, and Google was lucky to fix it fast... like someone mentioned if the dude posted "Google Left China" or whatever.. this could have been pretty bad.

Maybe someone inside Google was frustrated? :)

I can help thinking, that if Trey really did hack the site, what would Google then do? Maybe they would say that it wasn't a failure of the system, but just a one-time oops from a human and also make Trey back that story up?

I'm just relieved that Google did not get seriously compromised. Chance favours the Prepared Mind!

I wonder... how does one accidentally delete one's own blog? I could imagine there's at least a single "are you sure?" dialog at Blogspot.
