Read the page "Original Dooder", http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/events/doodle/doodler.html it's an interview of Dennis Hwang, mister Doodle :) |
is not Dennis the orginal logo designer for google ?? |
any idea why they choose the UK's as the inital start point for this competation ??
Why not US or AU or any other country ??
|
Because it's the second time they have such a competition for "youngers". See, when they opened the UK Googleplex, the first Doodle for Google was held. |
They had one a few months back that involved school children for the launch of the Googleplex in London. Perhaps they want to use this as a recruiting tool for the best of british students. |
woah....exactly the same time.
here's a link to the Doodles..

and the winning doodle by Dennis Hwang...

oops that was meant to be "winning doodle chosen by Dennis Hwang"....the actual doodle was won by an 11-year-old called Lisa Waiwaina. |
I am in the UK. I am 17. I go to a sixth form. Just think... I could enter!
I am not going to of course. I am rubbish at art and the like. |
Ha!
There is a mistake on the Doodler Interview Page.
"How do you decide on the design of the drawings? "Mostly the art is in the letters. I like to have a design that interacts with letters. I find that a bit more interesting." Do you have favourite doodles? "I have several favourites. Usually, artists' birthdays are the ones I spend the most effort on, like Monet's birthday." How difficult is it to reinvent recurring holidays? "It's definitely a challenge, but it's one I look forward to. I've been doing this for quite a while and need to come up with fresh ideas every year. There's only so many ways to draw a turkey or a pumpkin!"

Notice that the last two questions are repeated?! |
Why is it only in the UK?!?!?!!? |
"Why is it only in the UK?!?!?!!?"
