Google Calendar in Gmail (Greasemonkey) (View post)Haochi | Friday, April 14, 2006 18 years ago • 7,942 views |
Wow, that is fast... "Got problem with Google"? ... Rather not to use it. |

Hmm, I'm getting a "Error installing user script" (for any Greasemonkey script, using Firefox 1.5 and the latest Greasemonkey 0.6.4). http://blogoscoped.com/temp/greasemonkey-error.jpg |

I would not use g/m scripts yet... |

installed fine for me – do you have am grease scripts running? |
Philipp Lenssen | 18 years ago # |
Got no scripts running so far. |

Got it working here. |

I can install it but it stucks at "Agenda Loading..." |
Caleb E | 18 years ago # |
ditto. Does it want the rss feed or the ical feed? i tried both |
Caleb E | 18 years ago # |
nm, it just takes for freaking ever |

I have changed it to allow it to grab either the PRIVATE XML or a publiclly shared Calendar. Should be all set -
as for the time – it does an AJAX request and then needs to parse the results.

Nothing showing up here with the lastest Greasemonkey and Firefox 1.5.0.1. |

I'm going to wait until Google themselves integrate it |
Caleb E | 18 years ago # |
It takes about five minutes to load one event..... |
Sam Davyson | 18 years ago # |
jc: It is not clear whether that will ever happen. They seem to think their Gmail integration at the moment is tight, when all you get is a button when you are sent events info (which will not always work obviously). |

I'm strongly hoping for MUCH better integration. In our every day lives, communication and logistics (Calendar) are so interwoven that I'd expect that Google'd have hundreds of advantages to merge them commercially, and to make calendar much more "sticky" |

it tells me I need to run setup because the calendar url has not been found. Anyone know what I need to do? |
donkeypunch | 18 years ago # |
you need to put your calendar URL into google bookmarks and then set the label to point to it from the script. I think it defaults to the label of GMgcal
|

It says no event found ...when I did all according to the instructions provided, set bookmark and label in google bookmarks, adjusted time zone. I have event on my gcal. What else could be wrong? |
Saul | 18 years ago # |
When i open gmail I get "no event found".Then i click refresh and after that click Agenda and as a result get my events but with a notice on the top "agenda loading". Then if I go to Sent mail for example I should click on Agenda once again to see agenda window maximized. |

Not to bog down PL's blog – this script is hosted at userscripts.org (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/3829) which has a comment section – I have found a couple of 'gotchas' with the different feed types and I am working on resolving those.
Thanks to everyone for input thus far.

now in Gmail you got the "toolbar" at top, the same on google calendar. It's a beginning... |
Travis Harris | 18 years ago # |
you can now add events when composing or replying to any E-mail |
