The last sentence about this other holiday made me grin so much that my colleague has asked me what's the matter.
I like such try gags, get us more of them Philipp! |
Towel Day?! Now how did that start? |
It's from the hitchhiker's guy to the galaxy...I watched the movie(I think it's actually a book) last year, pretty funny. You need a towel to suvive in the galaxy... |
Can you guys get to the Towel Day site? I had a link to it on my site, but it just shows up as an Xed image now. Then, when I click on it, it says that the webpage cannot be found. Mike |
<<(I think it's actually a book)>> it is a book... it became a movie after the book..
heres some info about this day: <<Towel Day is celebrated every May 25 as a tribute by fans of the late Douglas Adams. The commemoration was first held on Friday in May 2001, two weeks after his death on May 11, and since then has been extended to an annual event. On this day, fans carry a towel with them throughout the day. The towel is a reference to Adams's popular science fiction novel, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.>>

Actually, it was first a radio show, then a book, then a TV show, then a couple of more books, then a comic, even comic collectors cards, and finally, a real movie... author Douglas Adams started to work with the movie creators but unfortunately died before it was completed. This way we never know if it was totally true to his intentions, though I think it was pretty good. |
