new version of Digg is now live

http://www.digg.com

menu system is now on the left hand side. i'll probably get used to it, but i find it distracting – when i visit digg, its usally to just scan a few headlines – having the menu on the right-hand side means that its not getting in the way.

what do others think?

absolutely hate it.

on mine, there's massive whitespace between the thin header and the main content, which seems pointless.

I can't believe they missed creating a sports topic, given the number of topics they added. Where would you submit an article on the world cup, for example?

Digg it here: http://digg.com/design/Digg_V3_Where_s_the_sports_topic_!

if you want digg v3 to have the digg v2 layout (i.e. – RIGHT hand side menu + many other features, such as increased comment width) have a read through this comment thread

also, you need to have the Stylish extension installed

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2108/

work for me anyway.

i'll post a screenshot in just a minute.

I really like how the stories in the pipeline can now be reached with a tab on the top right. Very intuitive.
