Swastika (svastika in Sanskrit) is an Ancient Hindu symbol, referring to the wheel of Vishnu's chariot, and can be seen in temples across India and in Buddhist temples across Asia. It is considered as prominent and as synonomous as Aum (Om).
Unfortunately, in the West the unearthing of these symbols in pre-Christian Troy sites and some misguided fascists who mis-interpreted the Hindu scriptures turned this into some silly Aryan theory of German supremacy.
BTW – Aryan, means noble people (in Sanskrit).
What this has to do with Google is completely beyond me!

We have this, right here in the US, also. Check out Denver International Airport: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=k&om=1&ll=39.864294,-104.657478&spn=0.062587,0.161018 |

Asian swasticas are usually left-facing, and since the mid-20th century anyone wanting to evoke the auspicious symbol of Asian tradition would make sure to face it left to distinguish it from the officially right-facing Nazi swastica. This one is right-facing. |
That's sick if they are going to change it – it's history. In that case Soviet Union (communistic) symbols should be destroyed also. |
Where in Belgium is this?

German N24 quotes the architect Robert Tachelet: "I'm no Nazi and I'm proud of the well. The Germans don't have a monopoly on the swastika – it's a symbol for the god of the sun."

In Hinduism, the two symbols represent the two forms of the creator god Brahma: facing right it represents the evolution of the universe (Pravritti), facing left it represents the involution of the universe (Nivritti).

There are buildings on the US soil, also, that are swastika shaped. Just check out the Coronado naval base in San Diego, California. I don't know how to paste a direct Google Maps link, but googleing for the terms above, I found this link: http://www.tagzania.com/item/5326 . |
If you use Google Earth, have a look at this place I once found in San Diego, USA:
32°40'33.91"N 117° 9'28.18"W
You may zoom in until about 250 meter above ground or closer. |
uh, I didn't read the post right before my first one, that's talking 'bout exactly the same place ... |
