Whilst I was doing some ‘routine’ interrogations of Google’s services, I just saw the following for the first time:

So, what’s an AOL Marketplace account? I’m assuming that it’s simply a Google Account by another name so that the AOL Marketplace users don’t get too confused. But that raises a couple more questions. What is the AOL Marketplace? And how do you access it?
Does anyone know...?

Does this not have to do with the previous agreement with AOL to advertise on AOL networks! |
You have already found something called "market place". No link? |
Josue: Yes, of course it has something to do with the previous agreement (I refer to this in my blog post) but this is the first mention I've seen of it since that announcement was made. It just seems odd that they're rebranding a Google Account as an AOL Marketplace Account – why not just call it a Google Account?
TOMHTML: That was *Mobile* Marketplace (mmp) in the sandbox. |
FYI only – I’ve just noticed that "AOL Marketplace account" has now been updated to "AOL Search Marketplace account" instead:

That is interesting. It doesn't seem to be styled in the same way as the other Google login boxes. What is the URL? |
