didn't the dmarc guys leave on similar grounds? Maybe its a case of: we got bought out, we don't need to work for anyone anymore,might as well grab our money and run while the shares are worth alot.

The Dmarc founders left after a year of working at Google. Their argument was Google was taking their idea in the wrong direction.
