By the way, I excluded profile pages from indexing because some people complained the profile page was outranking their homepage, and of course that's not useful... |

The profile page takes the top result in Google for their name. (Sometimes if the person is a regular and the result page doesn't match well I also tweak manually.) Example, click on "Peter Dawson" when you're on this page:

What I really wanted to avoid is you having to enter your name, email AND homepage when you want to comment, like many blogs require... I want to keep it simple so you can quickly comment without having to type too much stuff. |
