Everyone keeps dreaming about Google entering an online storage market by releasing a Google Drive or GDrive product. That dreaming can become reality if Google decided to buy Mozy.com. Mozy.com is operated by Salt Lake City-based Berkeley Data Systems. They offer backup services for Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 2000. Mozy.com is in the process of creating a Mac version of their service. You can sign up for a free personal account that allows you to backup up to 2 gigs of data or you can sign up for an unlimited personal account that is $4.95 a month with no limits on how much you want to backup.

Besides the personal file backup options, Mozy.com has a business service too, MozyPro.com. Businesses can pay $3.95 per computer they want to backup, plus a $0.50 / GB per month storage fee. MozyPro.com just signed an agreement with GE (General Electric) this week for MozyPro to backup 300,000 GE employee PCs.

This would be a great company for Google to buy.

Hey
Liked this cool tool & started using it

Good if Google buys it or adds similar interface for backing up on gmail-space.

I'm on a mac now so I can't use the service just yet. Good idea though.

I have been using this service like for about a year (or something like that, since long long ago), although the backup is automated, but the upload/encrypting process stops a lot for no reason. Ayyy.

BTW, I think they said they are going to have a Mac version of it... (since forever)

Wow that looks quite good. There are quite some players in this field and they do look really good. But, have you checked Divshare.com Even they are turning into a great file hosting service.

Mozy.com just released their Mac client. Mike over at TechCrunch reported about this on April 25th.
