For many queries, the results are distinct only in the first 3-4 pages. Then the same page of results is repeatead again, and again, and again.
E.g.: Page 5 for "safari windows: http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=safari+windows&num=10&so=0&hl=en&start=40
Page 6: http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=safari+windows&num=10&so=0&hl=en&start=50
Page 7: http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=safari+windows&num=10&so=0&hl=en&start=60
If they don't appear identical, try clicking "next" a couple of times. |
I see what you mean about the duplicate results. Does this happen with other queries? |
No, they're not duplicate results. They're identical search results pages.
Page1 Page2 ... Pagek Page(k+1)==Pagek Page(k+2)==Pagek....

Good pick Ionut! I must be a blonde, because I had to click on ~6 pages to confirm that it was the same :-) |
I thought that only happens in nightmares lol. :) |
MSN does that too – it'll show you the links to the next pages but if you use them it will just display the same results. I assume it's done on purpose on MSN to prevent scrapers, but it's hard to know without any sort of feedback.
How far can you bother your users for sake of a few bad bots?
