Now i did login to my gmail and now when i open base.google.com, it is asking for what kind of listing i want to place.

same like in screenshots.. try it..

There is kind of integration problem with google account services and google base.

works(ish) for me too. looks like your google account has to be authorized to be able to upload something note the differance between http://base.google.com/base/processstep1offerunauth
and http://base.google.com/base/processstep1offer
so I imagine that its enabled for a group of beta testers and the functionality will be rolled out gradually for us lowly users

My mickey-mouse data-limit at my site was to low so my site is down now. I hope it wil be up again today because there everyone can read the entire course of events that led to this amazing discovery! The story includes me and that is always a good thing, except of course when its not.

P.S. Philipp, i love your site. And the next time I will just send you the screenshots ok? ;)

Wouter, I saw your posts/screenshots linked from 100s of news sources, so no wonder your server was sweating. If you want to, I'll mirror your page at my server and you can make a redirect to here (if your server allows such). If you want to, I can also just host the images for you for some time.

On a possibly related note, when I just logged out of Google Accounts, my list included the following two items:

- Google Base – Help the world find your content
Linked to: http://base.google.com/

- Purchases – Google Account Purchases
Linked to: https://www.google.com/purchases

However, "Purchases" doesn't appear in my Google Account menu...

I'm now in Netherlands (maybe that plays some role) and I get only 502 error when trying to access GBase.. Tried going to https://www.google.com/accounts/Login?service=gbase and logging in thruogh this. Logging goes normally, but then I'm redirected http://base.google.com and the same 502 error :(

I was inspired by your finding of Google Base at base.google.com so I wrote a PHP script that ran through 68,500 words. I didn't find anything exciting, but I put the results up at http://www.revolutiondove.com/google.txt

Ian, glad to hear you were inspired by my findings. Your script – which appears to work in a very similar way to mine – seems to have found a few more subdomains. (Your word list must have contained some extra words.) I assume you've seen my full results:

http://ruscoe.net/blog/2005/10/google-subdomains.asp

FYI, I ran my script the other day with an "s" added to the end of each word, a "g" added to the start of each word and also the word "google" added to the start of each word but I didn't find anything interesting either...

Probably a few other things you could append, like test, -test, dev, -dev... beta...

Or a "2"... gmail2.google.com etc.

Tony, you found some subdomains that I didn't find too. Perhaps we should keep a list going somewhere of all the known subdomains.

Just a curiosity: By changing the nui-value in the source of the Login page you'll get different Login screens:
