Yup. Tomorrow i'm joining the army for a minimum 3 years period. Which basically means i won't be here much.
I just wanted to thank you guys and of course Philipp and Tony for keeping this Blog / Forum alive. I'm glad i hooked up with many people and acknowledged me with so much knowledge.
Thank you so much, and i hope i'll have enough time to read here during my service . David. |

Hey David , all the best..!!
Bootcamp is always good for survival techniques :)- Who know's maybe you will choose a career in the army as an information technology worker.. keep your mind and options open.
Keep in touch and don't be a stranger!! |

Good luck David, as Sam said, you'll be missed. I'm sure it will be an invaluable experience and I (and I guess most of this community) hope to see you back soon. |

Good Luck David! Bring a camera with you. My grandfather did that back in the 40's and the pictures are amazing to look at today. |

Hey David,
If you need an officer on your side, drop me a line...doing my time in good ol' Tzahal as well...You hitting up a combat position? |
James Xuan | 16 years ago # |
Wow, hope you have an awesome time! It's something I would never do, partly because i'm lazy, and partly because I'm scared of things that go bang, but I hope to see you back here soon, and that you have a great , exiting time! |

Thank you so much you guys. It really means a lot to me. I hope to get updates pretty often.
Eytan << You hitting up a combat position? >> I have no idea really. All i know is the date and time. :/ I'll update my position when i'll have more details.
James << It's something I would never do, partly because i'm lazy, >> Well, it's the law here. :) |

I thought it was voluntary. It reassures me in some way, because the only force I would consider enrolling for is the UNPK force (which you can't actually do). |

All the best dude!
David : Israeli law obliges you to join the army for THREE YEARS?! wow! Here in France, we have... one day. We just see a DVD about French troops, fill a form (a quiz about our general knowledge) and sometime visit some barracks... lol. I'm note sure it's an obligation, it is just required to get driving license ^^. |

what!!! You HAVE to join the army!!! Here there's nothing like that!!! Then again we've never really had a war. Except that one with the English. But like, everyone has them, no? Lol |

Enlisting for 3 years is mandatory?
Good luck David. |

Well, if i'm not mistaken, Israel is the only country which obligates people to enlist the army at the age of 18. It's 3 years for men, and 2 years for women.
Many people say that the army has showed them many ways of life. It's kinda like maturing.
I know i'll make the most of it, so don't worry about me. I can't run much (flatfoot) so i won't be doing something too serious.
Thank you all once again. I'll keep in touch when i can. |

Cool, mature well David!
(on a side note, my Lithuanian friend had to return home when he was 18 to participate in the army for a year, or pay 2000 euro!) |

ObSnarkRemark: What are you enlisting that army FOR, David? ;-))
