I still see the old 404 page. Maybe Google should adjust the layout of the page because it's confusing. |
1) Rohit, it is not because Amit Agarwal say it then it's true 2) Philipp already blogged about that: http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2007-10-16-n51.html |
Its not only Amit Agarwal, even i noticed this today and its working on my machine and screenshots are there to show it
I was on google.com/ncr from there i noticed this stuff, you can also try it |
In Firefox, look at "about:config" and I bet the key "keyword.URL" is set to "google.com/..." and the key "keyword.enabled" is set to true. This is way you get this kind of page: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Femail
PS: It may also come from a particular Data Center, but I've tried the experiment with many of them, without result (=404 Google error pages) |
Tom, you're missing something from the screenshots: "Page not found", "The page ... doesn't exist". |
So there might be a parameter missing in my link ;-) |
Can't see those new pages here... |
I saw the new 404 error pages in Opera Mini. |
Yes better than the old "Not found" |
I'm not seeing the new 404 page here in the states. |

Interesting that the error page found a Google Windows registry file: http://www.google.com/google.reg |

Look at the new Google 404s:

Now, they give a search page on Google.com for what you're looking for. |
