Labnol.org reports that Google Friend Connect is coming soon. The support site of Friend Connect is now up and running with detailed information on how site owners can integrate the OpenSocial gadgets of Friend Connect in their sites.

Till about a month ago I was checking the site every few weeks, I just recently gave up that they would ever release it... great! Anybody on here who actually got into the beta and tried it out?

Asided from the general somewhat buggy state of this release, I've noticed this quirk popular in so many applications: something is hidden, but then when you click "expand" or something, only a tiny fraction more (or even something taking up less space than before) shows up:

Any ideas why every embedded youtube video I open through the video sharing option in the comment gadges has the top search bar function BEFORE you start playing (I know it was spotted before, just typical it always shows up for me with videos in the comment gadget)

Aside from that the game gadget seems to be messed up as well, if I have joined I am in the highscore, but if I unjoin I disappear and joining makes it appear once again. On top of that I also see my score listed twice... kind of feels unfinished

PS. ifeellame, but I had to try out...

Is there a way to translate the whole friend connect's interface? I need it in a couple of other languages. May be a hidden param to set the LG somewhere?

When are you going to turn on Google Connect, Facebook Connect and OpenId on your blog/website?

It will be cool if the friend connect gadgets can be embedded into the site's code. All Javascript tools are loading a bit slower and their content is not visible for the search engines.

I can't sign in in Google Connect. Weird, I can do it with very other Google Connect enabled sites, but not this one (even after having cleaned cache and cookies).

Had to remove the widgets for now as they (?) kept showing a JavaScript popup in Internet Explorer...

MySpace released it's own data portability solutions, named MySpace ID.
I wonder why didn't they join Google in Friend Connect.
