I see ten results in Google, 358 in yahoo

I'm getting some results, but they all have little "author", "gender", and "more about" tags underneath the link. Are these results from Google Base?

Hi Philipp, I posted an article about strange SERPs on this request on www.Zorgloob.com.
Even if you don't speak french, you should see it ;-)

Good night!

Very weird, I initially did not get any results but I refreshed and saw 10 (like Hashim), but when I refreshed I got 0. Every time I refresh I either get 0 or 10, it's really a crap-shoot (almost like a random binary generator).

is google droping this index ?? SEW is reporting this!1

People tend to assume that yahoo has a fresher index and thats a good thing. I'm not so sure it is. It makes more sense to spend all surplus time you have reindexing the popular ones and let new sites ferment a bit (get some backlinks so pagerank can work its magic)

hmmm...It is possible that Google is now Banning Queries :LOL

This may be interpreted as SERPs Spam – and it consumes significant processing resources (constant SERPS checking) – and there is no telling HOW FAR THESE CONTEST CAN GO – so perhaps they are being pro-actively practical now since the novelty has worn off.

Searching on the BigDaddy DataCenter – Nothing comes up even after 20 refreshes!

Perhaps Matt will post something tommorrow

yep...

I think for Google those are small numbers. I guess stuff like "Britney Spears" still gets a million times more traffic :)

First, we complain about spam.

Then we complain about Google not showing spam.

Hmmm....

Google is now showing results for the query "v7ndotcom elursrebmem".

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=v7ndotcom+elursrebmem&btnG=Search&meta=

Funnily enough, although you are not participating in the competition you appear 4th in the SERPs (well at least in my SERP)

Still nothing showing for me at Google.com/co.uk... guess I have to wait another day or so.

Google shows results in Blog search, News, Groups.

A good idea would be to edit a high-ranking page (updated often) and to include those invented words.

New Results are being displayed about 12,000 on Google

The Google Engineers read THIS BLOG and the V7N Thread – and then reprogrammed the flaw...
or else Matt would have said something about a new policy....

from Zero to 12,000 is impossible without some programmin intervention

hmmm........the power of blogs

Still 0 results...

strange...its showing 0 results again.

I can vouch for the fact that it was showing 12,000 results earlier and that Philipp's blog appeared 4th in the SERPs.

Using http://www.mcdar.net/dance/index.php I get about 12000 results from all datacenters. However, when I just go to Google.com (which I have set to BigDaddy in my hosts file) or Google.co.uk, I get nothing.

> which I have set to BigDaddy in my hosts file

That's smart.

Andrew on that one I can see the official forum 1st (makes sense) and our friend Alek (the christmas lights guy/ inflatable hulk blogger) on the 2nd spot. As he gives all to charity, that's a good result...

I've been getting 12,600 results all day in the UK on Google.com and Google.co.uk. (Currently using 66.102.9.104 and 66.102.9.147 respectively.)

(I too have BigDaddy in my hosts file but it's simply set to http://g/ so that I can decide when I want to check it...)

I'm getting 12,600 results now too (Google.com in Germany). The top 5:
1. v7ndotcomelursrebmem.net
2. watching-paint-dry.com
3. v7ndotcomelursrebmem.org
4. blog.outer-court.com
5. v7ndotcomelursrebmem.com

23,000 results on BigDaddy now. It is giving the same results as Philipp just posted. I think I'll only blog about this if Alek's page falls in the ranking, and then I'll link to him.

Tony, that is a good idea. I was thinking about that this morning that I should set it to some URL without a TLD (so just like http://google/ or something). When I first set it, I was afraid it might go down a lot and give me problems, but so far, all Google services have been working.

Watching Paint Dry is losing rank :(. Perhaps I'll link to it soon.
