All they do to protect users privacy is change the name with a number. Poor AOL users. |
Looks like they already took it down. Techcrunch has the story: http://www.techcrunch.com/2006/08/06/aol-proudly-releases-massive-amounts-of-user-search-data/
Only a matter of time before the torrent pops up. |
Google's cache of the website: http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:2Qvd2z9VbuIJ:research.aol.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php%3Fn%3DResearch.500kUserQueriesSampledOver3Months+&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1 |
The file is still available for download. |
Man AOL is going to be in PR hell soon. |
the file is no longer there... |
Ridwan: There are a ton of mirror sites already distributing the file. It's too late. |
AOL in PR hell soon, hmm...what do you think of their re-design efforts, they don't seem to be laying over and dying? and what of Google's $5 billion investment in them? Is that just for their advertising pull with AIM? |
This is sooooo messed up. wow. |
I'm glad I'm not an AOL user. People will be boycotting AOL now, |
who uses AOL Drive?
"All your queries belong to us"
The data is just awesome! A lot to play with |
May be someday AOL will say : From today onwards we bring equality to all AOL users. Anyone can – from now on – access everyone's email, files and documents. We are not going to filter anything. Not even the user's deepest secret. From now on the accounts will not be password protected. All you need is the user names. And if you don't know what a person's user name is click here (aol.com/userinfo) to access our user info database...
[Sorry AOL this is just a joke.... i think ;)] |

The new tagline: "AOL – Putting Research First". |
I am looking for anyone who had AOL dial up and after AOL said you could leave and keep your screen name ect has left. I am looking for you to explain what happened, what was said when you called to cancle and what features are and are not still available to you now.
Thanks, Jack |
