Does anybody know, if Stanford (still) profits from Google? Do they get something, money, credits, patents?
And I can't wait to see the 10year website from Google. |

hmm, Nice find Philip
It is good to see that Google is ruling and so do you in the world of Google Bloggers! I sometimes wonder, how you get all these information...I think I'll need to search to find out your secret of Google related information....:)) |
One of the links from his homepage links to his Dad, Michael Brin, a Maths (Math) teacher at University of Maryland. http://www.math.umd.edu/~mib/
I also like the comment "~25 million pages (soon to be much bigger)" – how right they were... |
Corsin I think the PageRank patent is in the name of Stanford University. |

I asked Google Press support, and they tell me "I think this is a better question for Stanford." |
the first google site with a "Advertise with Us" link: http://web.archive.org/web/20000815052943/http://www.google.com/ |
Some time ago, I read an interesting article here http://www.lrb.co.uk/v28/n02/lanc01_.html that states that apparently "The patent for PageRank, incidentally, is owned by Stanford University. Google have exclusive use of it until 2011."!!
I don't know if it's true or not; but if it is, it's not a very well known fact about Google! This might help answer the question above about whether Stanford still profit from this company. |
