What is the difference between the versions? Other than the language?

Yes, the "Featured" sections aren't the same (in France we have VoD, French teasers of films, few films from our national TV archive center, etc)

In the USA, I can get all the versions.

I'm not getting redirected to the UK version

I'm getting redirect to the Polish version (thought I've set English as a preferred language in Firefox) and it's very annoying. The same problem was present also yesterday (Tuesday), I'm not sure since when.

What is happening here ? Each user is getting compartlized to their own IP and DC.. this implies content is being "soilified"..that is each users view point is never the same , depending on the login zone ...!!!

I don't like it. Google does that at Google.com as well (redirecting to Google.de based on IP) but at least they let you switch back...

Whats annoying is when you use a proxy and go to use google and get a language you can't read :)- , I ended making a bookmark with the english page so I wouldn't run into that anymore.

I mentioned this to someone; sounds like they'll be doing something about it within the next day or so.

Well this is one of the advantages of being a small, not-worthy, country ;-) .

We don't have our own customised Google video version in Belgium, so I can still enjoy the american version without any problem ...

It works now :) You can go to http://video.google.com/?ncr and it doesn't redirects you.

Of course even before you could use specific URLs like http://video.google.com/videoranking Only the Googe homepages force redirect.

I don't know who needs Polish version of Google Video – those videos are mostly in English. And and the same time we are waiting for Polish Google News and ability to search Google Maps for Poland (we have maps, but we can't search them...).

To be fully consistent in their domain usage, they really ought to have the US versions of their services in the google.us domain, with the .com domain merely a location-dependent redirect to the appropriate national site for where you are. That would create a URL that definitively referred to the American version, rather than the ambiguity of google.com referring both to the U.S. Google and a generic, redirectable international one.

The old buggy behavior is back for me (I enter video.google.com, am redirected to video.google.de, then click on US, but next time I enter video.google.com I am again redirected to .de).
